Kenneth A. Rahn, Ph.D. is professor emeritus in the Center for Atmospheric Chemistry Studies at the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island, as well as, a lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at Boston University. From 1992 to 1996, he was acting director of CACS, with which he has been affiliated since 1980. Previously, Professor Rahn was a visiting scientist at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research and at the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemistry in Germany, a research associate at the Institute for Nuclear Sciences at the University of Ghent, Belgium, and a science and mathematics teacher at Classical High School in Providence, RI, among many other academic positions. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and, the New York Academy of Sciences. He has published widely in professional journals and books. Professor Rahn earned his B.S. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and, his Ph.D. in meteorology from the University of Michigan.
